Countless hours, an unwavering work ethic, a desire to connect offline and an enduring commitment to improving the understanding and application of interactive marketing best practices – these are the things that make outstanding AZIMA board members. Nathan Kinkead and Cristie Reed are two prime examples of that, as both recently won the 2014 Outstanding Volunteer award.
Nathan Kinkead
Nathan presently serves as AZIMA’s Technology Chair and has helped manage and maintain the website for almost half a decade. “Nathan donated a significant amount of personal time getting our new website developed and launched,” explains Stephen Heitz, President of AZIMA. “That work has been a huge win and step forward for the association.”
Nathan says his volunteer work has been worthwhile, as he’s been able to get to know and trade ideas with others in the industry.
“When you volunteer with a professional association like AZIMA, you’re able to learn from others in similar fields,” he says, adding that the networking opportunities are beneficial to those looking to advance their careers.
Cristie Reed
Cristie currently serves on the board as the Administrative Chair, and as Stephen puts it, “she’s the glue that holds the board together.” From ensuring that events go off without a hitch to recruiting volunteers, Stephen says, “she’s been a huge team player and has pitched in to help in almost every area.”
Having been a dedicated member since AZIMA’s inception, Cristie explains it simply: “I’ve just always rolled up my sleeves and helped out wherever needed.”
She highly recommends that those with can-do attitudes and a desire to expand their professional network consider volunteering with AZIMA. “Being an AZIMA board member has provided an excellent environment for networking opportunities, including gaining exposure to new business partnerships, potential job/project opportunities and industry experts to learn from,” she affirms.
