About the Speakers
Jeramie McPeek, Vice President, Interactive Services, Phoenix SunsEntering his 18th season with the National Basketball Association’s Phoenix Suns this fall, Jeramie McPeek leads the organization’s digital and social media efforts. Under his guidance, Suns.com has twice been named the top team site in the NBA by the Sports Business Journal (2002, 2004) and received the Website of the Year Award from the NBA in 2007. McPeek was also recognized with two Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards in 2008 for his direction of the Suns’ official social network (PlanetOrange.net) and a virtual tour of the team’s clubhouse (SunsLockerRoom.com).
In his role as vice president of digital for the Suns and the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, McPeek oversees eight in-house websites, as well as the Suns’ social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and YouTube. In addition to his position with the Suns, McPeek is the “editor at large” for the NBA’s official magazine, HOOP, and has had nearly a thousand articles published in national magazines over the last 14 years. McPeek is also on the board of governors for the Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and serves on a committee for the northwest valley branch of Young Life in Phoenix.
Karina Bohn, Senior Director, Marketing, Arizona DiamondbacksKarina Bohn recently completed her sixth season with the Arizona Diamondbacks. She is currently the team’s Senior Director of Marketing, a role in which she oversees the team’s advertising, fan loyalty, creative services, research, and promotional efforts. During her tenure with the D-backs, Bohn has played a role in several major team initiatives, including the team’s 2006 rebranding. She is also a member of the organization’s strategic planning committee, which conducts an annual company-wide business operations assessment and develops recommendations for future strategic direction.
Prior to joining the D-backs, Bohn was an Account Executive for Momentum Worldwide, a division of McCann-Erickson, where she developed and executed sports sponsorship strategies for Qwest Communications. She has also held various technology marketing positions, including Director of Corporate Communications for the Phoenix-based national headquarters of a publicly-traded e-business integrator. Bohn received her undergraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois and earned an MBA from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. She currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with her husband Brad, son Cade (3) and daughter Carson (7 months).
